Designed to serve as both a sports center and a social club for French colonial officials and the elite of Hu\u1ebf during the French Colonial era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The center was home to the city\u2019s first tennis court and swimming pool, both of which remained in use until the late 1980s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Co-designed by renowned French architect Jacques Alph\u00e9e Lagisquet and Vietnamese architect H\u1ed3 \u0110\u1eafc C\u00e1o, Le Cercle Sportif remains a lasting example of the Streamline Moderne style of Art Deco in the ancient capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>12th April 2023 \u2013 The Grand Opening of Le Cercle Sportif \u2013 The flagship-dining concept of Hue, offering a destination of design aesthetic, social entertainment and community engagement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1935 \u2013 1954 (during French colonial time): Cercle Sportif de Hu\u00e9: The venue served as a sports and social club for French colonial officials and the elite of Hu\u1ebf.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1960s \u2013 1975 (during American war in Vietnam): Hue Sports Club: The venue was a sport center for high ranking army officers. In the Tet offensive (1968) the venue was a first aid station, and then after it was occupied by the USMC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1975 \u2013 2000: Hue Sports Center \u2013 manage by Provincial Sport Department &amp; Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thua Thien Hue. During this period, the venue was a sport center and a meeting venue of Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thua Thien Hue; it is also occasionally rented out for wedding and is considered one of the very first wedding hall in the city<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2001 \u2013 2019: Festival Restaurant \u2013 operate by Huong Giang Tourist JSC. The venue was handed over to HGT JSC and was converted into a restaurant with a wedding hall, an open air restaurant on the rooftop and some other private function rooms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2020 \u2013 2022: The venue underwent an&nbsp; extensive renovation and refurbishment for the opening of Le Cercle Sportif<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beneath the historic Banyan Tree, the construction of Cercle Sportif de Hu\u1ebf began in 1935.
